Celebrating his 12th anniversary in the music industry, singer-actor Ronnie Liang continues to penetrate Spotify’s most listened artists list with his newest songs “Ligaya,” and “Yakap.” The songs are part of his album titled “12.”
With over 230, 000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Ronnie always feels the support of his fans. His song “Ligaya,” an Eraserheads classic, is still number one in Barangay LS’ most requested songs. “Yakap,” whose music video is releasing soon, also entered the list.
“I’m happy na we have this kind of platform, Spotify, that’s available everywhere. Nakakatuwa na maraming nakikinig sakin sa Spotify. Tumataas ‘yung number of listeners every month. Imagine after Ngiti, ‘yung Ligaya super hit ngayon. Really overwhelmed,” he shared.
Music is still his first love. Though busy pursuing his pilot dream, he makes sure that he has time for singing, creating music. He’s very visible in the music scene. After releasing an album, he’s now collaborating with fellow Viva artist Sarah Geronimo for a song that will surely touch everyone’s heart.
He knows that the industry is changing. The kind of artist that people listen to is also changing. But he’s sure that it’s always the message, whatever tone, that captures the listeners. He’s not leaving the old Ronnie Liang style, he just explored and put some millennial vibe.
“I love performing, I love singing. That’s my safe place. Pero ‘yung nagpapa-challenge sakin is to create more meaningful and relatable songs. Like ‘yung upcoming collab namin ni Sarah, people will like it. Music feeds my soul. Ang sarap kumanta lalo na kapag naihahatid mo ‘yung mensahe sa listeners,” Ronnie expressed.
He has done provincial tours also. Viva management has given him that importance as their talent. Viva is very supportive too with Ronnie’s plans as a singer and actor. The management never fails to give him movie and tv projects like “Maria” (available now on Netflix) and “Ghost Adventures” (airing on Sari Sari channel). He just finished shooting for “Jowable,” Viva’s newest offering.
“Viva is my family. Super thankful especially to boss Vic,” the singer said.
He’s truly blessed. What’s impressive is that he knows how to handle every achievement with kindness and openness. The soon to be pilot has an upcoming major concert this November with Sarah G as a special guest. He’s also part of Run with Me this coming August 25 at SM MOA concert grounds, an event organized by Resorts World Manila.
Spotify success, chart topping songs, upcoming collab song and concert, flying soon as a pilot—with all these happening, Ronnie never loses his core—the achiever guy who wants the best for his supporters and family.
