NBI campaigns against drugs through exhibit, workshop

SPEAKING of talents, one who has the knack now in finding her wards for her BG Productions International Inc. is Madam Baby F. Go.

She recently signed up the “X Factor” finalist Mark Mabasa to be part of BG’s growing family.

When the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) had a painting exhibit and workshop in Davao, Madam Baby was invited to cut the ribbon and she brought Mark, Wynona Calderon, Rhea Useres and Renz Buster to provide the entertainment for the two-day affair.

Mark brought the house down with his rendition of popular songs like “Never,” “Perfect” and his version of “Nanghihinayang” culled from his past album.

Wynona, Rhea and Renz charmed the audience with their different styles in singing.

All the more happy ang manager na si Madam Baby.

“Excited ako kasi natuwa ang mga special guests in the event like Congressman Roel Pacquiao, our Senator Manny’s brother, si NBI National Director Atty. Dante Guirran and ang nag-spearhead ng event na si Ms. Ligaya “Jing” Banawan.”

The artists had a ball performing for the distinguished guests, the painters who participated in the exhibit as well as the students from Agro Foundation Industrial Technology who attended the workshop.

This was held to continue disseminating the campaign and awareness against drugs. That there is no hope in dope.

In collaboration with doctors, psychologists and artists, the kids were given lectures, painting sessions and discussions by the guests.

“Nakaka-touch kasi ‘yung mapipili nila na best sa mga nag-paint will be given scholarships. But the important thing ay ‘yung mapaalalahanan sila sa masamang epekto ng droga sa buhay ng bawat isa. In the clinic workshop, when they were asked to share ‘yung meaning ng mga ipininta o idrinowing nila, maiiyak ka sa mga hugot ng marami sa kanila. Na dun pa lang nila nasabi o naibulalas,” said Ms. Jing.

“Kaya natuwa rin sila na nakahalubilo ang artists from Manila with their performances. Kasi nakausap din nila ang mga ito.”

Some of the artists who once again gave their support to the event are Pancho Piano, Fidel Sarmiento, Manny Facaldo, Dra. Evelyn Ignacio Chua, Jeannete Kempuis, Lloyd Orosa, Danny Santiago, Jomari Sanclaveria and Chinese painters.

Painting Exhibit and Healing Art Clinic Workshop was commended by Mayor Sara Duterte for the drug awareness campaign.

Acting NBI Director of Davao, Atty. Mario FC Tonelete said this project will continue to give more awareness about the campaign.

Madam Baby also found the BeatBox guy Neil Llanes who placed 2ns runner up in last year’s “Asia’s Got Talent.” Soon to sign a contract with BG!

A lot of parents also dream of a modeling career for their kids. Yes, not just in acting.

I found out that there is a fashion show events and casting which train and develop kids in their ability to excel on the runway and the fashion world.

Screening is going on. And those interested may register now.

Calling all kids (boys and girls) ages 2-16 years oold.
