ON JANUARY 23, the most-awaited movie starring Martin del Rosario, “Born Beautiful” will be shown in cinemas nationwide.
Though given an R-18 rating for mature audiences, direk Perci Intalan quips, “If there’s a Marvel Universe, why can’t there be a Beautiful Universe? There are so many fascinating smd heartwarming stories based on the transgender experience and “Die Beautiful” has proven that these stories are universal, you don’t have to be LGBTQ to appreciate it and be moved by it.”
The media and supporters of the actors had a field day when the movie has its advance uncensored screening at the UP Cine Adarna.
Martin shared the hardships and challenges he had to do to tackle the role of Barbs Cordero, Trisha’s (Paolo Ballesteros) friend.
“When it was offered to me, tinanggap ko na agad. Alam ko naman ang simula ng “Die Beautiful.” Nung una nga ang alam namin series ito sa TV. Pero nakita nila na pwedeng tumayo as a film project kaya ito na muna bago ang series. Hindi na ako nag-dalawang isip. Mas gusto ko na mas ma-challenge ako.
“Kahit nakaganap na ako ng gay roles before, I don’t think na mata-typecast ako. Pero after nito, stop muna ako sa gay roles. Magpapahinga lang.”
Martin got more inspired and challenged because in some of his shoots, his Dad would accompany him on the set and watch him work.
“Proud siya. Ang ganda ko raw. Hahaha!”
The media, the fans and guests at the premiere were really entertained with “Born Beautiful.”
Viewers will be surprised with the scenes they will see.
Martin’s leading men are the wild Greg (Kiko Matos) and Michaelangelo (Akihiro Blanco) supported by Lou Veloso, Chai Fonacier, Elora Españo, Joey Paras, Jojit Lorenzo, Gio Gahol, VJ Mendoza, Jason Barcial, Milo Elmido Jr. and the special appearance of Paolo Ballesteros.
This is produced by Cignal Entertainment, Octobertrain films and The IdeaFirst Company.
AKIHIRO says “Itinodo ko na rin ang lahat in my role here as Barbs’ lover. Parang kinailangan ko na ring maging comfortable on my own skin. Kaya abangan din nila the sexy pictorial I did. For a magazine and a calendar. May ilan na akong in-upload sa IG (Instagram).
“Tinanggap ko naman ang role ko here kasi it’s a good script. Kailangan din naman panoorin ng mga tao kasi pam-pamilya rin ang istorya. Kaya nga gusto sana namin na mas marami pa ang makapanood nito. Story rin ng friendship. Maganda kaya todo talaga ako sa role ko.”
Who gets the heart of Barbs in “Born Beautiful?” Will there be a surprise “third party?”
DIRECTOR BRILLANTE MENDOZA is excited to show a different kind of Judy Anne Santos in his next movie to be shown, “Mindanao.”
Here, Judy Anne portrays the role of a Muslim wife and mother opposite Allen Dizon.
The life of their child is what’s at stake in their fight and struggle in life.
Watch out for Juday’s return to the big screen in a role that may give her another acting award.
We’ve seen parts of her scenes with Allen. Such great impact with only their eyes “talking!”
