“It was a big challenge for me. Di ba typically, your first onscreen screen would be between male and female. Pero ako, it’s with a girl. It might surprise everyone but it’s okay it’s something unique na hindi pa fully nare-represent sa Pinoy cinema”, aniya.
“Because majority of my friends are all working on improving how people accept our view, the LGBT community, and the most natural for us through articles, through illustrations, through films. So this is one step further for us to accept in a different light kasi although this community is mostly recognized by the gays, but for some reason, when it comes to lesbians, there’s so much taboo na people are not comfortable with it”, paliwanag niya. “So bakit ganoon? We need to make people more comfortable, make it more normal. As it is, normal naman di ba? So, I never hesitated”, pahabol niya.
“I am an actress and this is what I do. As an artist, this is my contribution. It’s like expanding my career and working with more interesting people.
“It was really a great experience kasi not only it’s my first time doing it, pero everyone on the set kasi, sinigurado, our DOP, our PD, people who were there, people who were directly involved with the actor or who talked to the actors, lahat sila are also part of the LGBT community so we really stuck to what we wanted to deliver for the film”, kuwento niya.
So it was normal. It was just I was getting to know new actors and naka-tsika ko siya nang bongga. We got along well. She’s a very easy person to talk to”, esplika niya.
“I want to challenge myself by doing roles na out of my comfort zone. It helps me as actress to evolve at ciempre, para lumawak ang acting range ko”, pagwawakas niya.
