Erik Matti believes his films are “never real world”

THIS message is worth sharing from the master director Erik Matti. Dedicated to those who have watched, will watch and won’t watch his “Buy Bust” project.

“My #films are never realworld. My films are created in the world I want them to be in to service the story I want to do. I dont make docus. I make movies. To those who demand that #BuyBust should be like the realworld either dont know how to watch movies or just plain nitpicky.

“People can surmise, speculate, criticize and analyze all they want like they know where all the ideas in a film came from but in the end no one really knows what went on in the mind of the filmmakers except the filmmakers themselves.

“In my case, not even my closest collaborator like Mich Yama knows in which direction I want to bring my movies.

“Funny how some people in social media can speak like they know me inside out. Some (fellow filmmakers even) can even speak like they have every right to personally attack me.

“And here I am encouraging the conversation to go on if that’s what it takes to enliven everyone in this film industry.”

Loud and clear.

ON Saturday, another heart-wrenching story will be featured in “MMK” (Maalaala Mo Kaya) at the Kapamilya lot.

Written by Rose Colindres and Arah Jell Badayos, directed by Nuel Naval tells the story of an “accused mother.”

It features Beauty Gozales as Jen and Aleck Bovick as Beth (formerly Angga) as her mother. Also in the cast are Erika Padilla, James Blanco, Yesha Camile, Rhed Bustamante, Yñigo Delen, Sophia Reola, and Paolo Rivero.

The travails of young love and raising a family. About unconditional love. Long distance love affair.

A mother’s love met by a grandmother’s care.

Love moves mountains.

ALLERGIC SA WIFI? Is there such a thing?

Based from the readings and researches done by director Jun Lana, it is. There is such an allergy that occurs to people who are not in the same frequency like electromagnetic things.

This is the story of “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi” brilliantly performed by Sue Ramirez who was direk’s only choice for the role.

If this happens, that there is such an allergy to wifi, how does Sue cope if it were for real?

“Mas allergic ako sa bashers. So kung mawala ang wifi, it really won’t bother me. As long as you can communicate with your love ones. Mas gusto pa rin naman natin ‘yung may personal encounters tayo in our lives. With people.”

Maybe the reason she admitted that she and boyband member Joao hit it off well just dating.

“I can’t say we’re officially kami na. Lumalabas lang kami. We’re happy together. Nandyan naman na.”

And her eyes won’t even wander to her two leading men markus Paterson and Jameson Blake.

“Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi” is part of the eight full-length feature films of PPP “Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino” 2018 and is touted as the most anticipated PPP2018 entry with its trailer hitting over 9 million views on social media.

From August 15-21, feast your eyes and senses on the movies that matter in this generation.

Unahin niyo na ang istorya ni Norma and how she lived her life without the aid of technology. For that matter the wifi!
