Ara Mina loves baking with daughter Mandy

ARA MINA opened her third branch of Hazelberry by Ara in Ayala Malls Feliz along Marcos Highway recently.

“This is our 3rd branch. The first one is in Don Antonio Q.C., then sa Alabang Hills and Ayala Malls Feliz now.”

Ara’s longtime partners are friends Christine Baniqued and Justin Quimbo.

“Nagsimula sa pa-bake-bake lang ng red velvet cakes. Hanggang dumami na ‘yung mga klase ng cakes na nabi-bake ko. Una, sa bahay lang. Ino-order ng friends and mga kakilala. Nung nasasarapan na sila at may nagri-request na ng maraming orders that’s where I decided na dapat may pwesto na siya. Awa ng Diyos kaming mag-ina (Mandy) ang talagang hands-on dito. Mandy loves to watch me bake. Kaya minsan siya na rin ang katulong ko. I think may dalawa pa branches mago-open next year. Masaya! ‘Pag wala akong shoot or taping, ito ang pinagkakaabalahan ko.”

No lovelife to boot, Ara is happy taking care of Hazelberry with her Mandy.

With Hazel (Ara) and her partners who graced the event were her Dad Chuck Mathay and Ever Bilena’s Sir Dioseldo Sy.


AUTHENTIC CUISINE from Southern Philippines. That was how the owners of Palm Grill along Morato Avenue, Jose Miggy Cabel Moreno and partner Nelson Canlas described first baby.

“As a boy, I was told to always look up to God and family for inspiration. I’m glad that I always did. Today, I looked up and my heart is overwhelmed and thankful,” said Miggy.

And now their second baby was born in Star Mall along Shaw Blvd. (beside Mercury Drugstore), Pyanggang Manok.

“To be thankful is an understatement, I am beyond blessed for all the love and support of family and friends. Pyanggang Manok is finally open and there is nothing more rewarding than being able to share my passion. To give more opportunities for jobs and to introduce Southern Mindanao cuisine to the Metro. 

“I always say that nothing is rewarding as  putting your heart and soul in everything you do. Two months ago, I decided to pull my sleeves up again for another project. One that I hold so dear to my heart, is making another appearance. This time around as a fast food concept store. Pyanggang Manok of Palm Grill opened its doors to everyone in Star Mall (Edsa-Shaw). I can’t wait to finally share what God has blessed us with to everyone.

That’s Miggy. My friend Nelson. And am busog-lusog with the Southern recipes they offer whether in Palm Grill or now at Pyanggang Manok-The Green Chicken, Oswalda’s Chucken, Tyulum Itum, Pyanggang Manok and more.
