URCC honors Olympian Taekwondo Fighter Monsour del Rosario


Honored at the 2018 Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) Hall of Fame Awards, are Olympian and Action Star, Congressman Monsour del Rosario sharing the glory with Arnis World Champion Senator Miguel Zubiri held at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City on Monday night.

Installed at the URCC’ s Hall of Fame also includes 11-time world boxing champion Senator Manny Pacquiao for boxing, Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez for fencing.


Dubbed as the corner stone in propagating mixed martial arts in the Philippines, URCC kicked off its inaugural event at the Casino Filipino Ampitheater Paranaque City in 2002.

URCC’s founder Filipino-Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Alvin Aguilar, says the arena became a breeding ground for world-class Filipino fighters who made their mark resonating their own respective legacies in the MMA world stage to a new generation of fighters.

Actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos, who made headlines got citations and are recognized as the URCC’s first celebrity fighters, after an impromptu cage match in June 2016.


URCC’s move towards world domination and with the founding of URCC as a global turf and spearheaded by its new chairman Arnold Vegafria; it’s new leadership, hopes to reach the Southeast Asian market in collaboration with its Asian affiliates, and assembling contingents of exemplary fighters to compete with Caucasian counterparts.

The URCC Hall of Fame Awards— a black-tie event is a massive attempt to honor the organization’s luminaries.

VIP attendees include former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Frank Shamrock and International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) President Kerrith Brown.
