New stars are born

‘Tis the season! Wherein new talents are presented by Star Magic Circle. 5 boys and 8 girls.

We are familiar with some.

Like Anna Luna, the oldest of the group. At 22, she’s made waves in the independent film scene locally and internationally. It was the stage (PETA) which honed her craft. Mr. M (Johnny Manahan) saw that she has what  “it” takes.

Leila Alcasid had to stop schooling in Australia so she can follow in the footsteps of her Dad Ogie and step-mom Regine Velasquez and undergo workshops for her acting prowess. In the meantime, it is her passion in music that will serve as her stepping stone. Her “Completely In Love With You” single is making waves in the top charts.

Donny Pangilinan hails from the royalty showbiz clan. His grandfather is filmdom’s Agent X-44 Tony Ferrer. His grandma is Imelda Ilanan. And the parents are actress Maricel Laxa and life coach and motivational speaker Anthony Pangilinan.

Tony Labrusca’s biological father Boom was part of a group but as Tony would put it, his father never made it. Now, he’s continuing where his dad left off. And it’s not just in singing he excels but in acting, too! Folks remember him in his role in”La Luna Sangre” as Jake.

The members of the media got to know them up close. And those who will be part of Star Cinema and ABS-CBN’s projects include Zonia Mejia, Yasmyne Suarez, Henz Villaraiz, Daniela Stranner, Patty Mendoza, Chantal Videla, Karl Gabriel, Markus Paterson, and Charlie Dizon.

Watch out for the lucky 13 batch! Pick your bets!

It’s such a big issue people are poking on Billy Crawford and Coleen Garcia’s shoot in Ethiopia.

The couple already apologized for the mess it created in social media.

They cleared that it’s not part of their pre-nup pic but part of the Ethiopian Tourism promo and the carrier or airline of the country.

What is funny to some and not to the others is the flak the designer is getting with his creations.

Poor designer!

Before she got the crown of Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach in her teens was dreaming of a career in showbusiness.

At fifteen she knew she has the knack for acting but the magic wand of a role that would fit her doesn’t wield in her direction.

After her stint in the Vice Ganda starrer in Metro Manila Film Festival last year, Star Cinema paired her now with Gerald Anderson in “My Perfect You.”

“Talagang dream ko ang maging leading lady. And alam ko naman na it comes at a time na talagang meant for you na siya. That’s why I am so very thankful na sa rami ng leading ladies na pwedeng makasama ni Gerald, sa akin ipinagkatiwala ang project na ito.”

An imperfect man trying to mend his broken-heart while meeting the perfect girl. And maybe the girl to fix it.

Burn and Abi will take us on a road trip directed by direk Cathy Garcia Molina and supported by Janus del Prado.

Pia’s comic prowess should not miss!
