“If I would do a film here, it should be a love story so I can appreciate the place more. I should stay in one place or else I would be chasing cars again. I love to make a movie!”

Asked what he would want to instill in the minds of young filmmakers, Jackie said, “Making movies is not just about making money.” He also shared the hardships and toiling he has done to get to where he is now.

Datuk Jackie showed his excitement in coming to Kuching as he has cancelled his trip to Korea and Dubai.

Saturday night, seeing International actress Michelle Yeoh, 2013’s recipient of the 1st AIFFA Lifetime Achievement Award, Datuk Jackie expressed his intent on making a movie with Tan Sri Michelle. He jokingly mentioned that he’s been waiting for it to happen for 30 years already!

The Philippines bagged the most awards for Best Director (Joseph Laban “Nuwebe”); Best Actress (Cherie Gil “Sonata”); Best Editing (Benjamin Tolentino “Bendor”); and ASEAN Spirit Award for “Purok7”!

And the most awaited was the Lifetime Achievement Award bestowed to the one and only Superstar for her acting prowess of international caliber, Nora Aunor.
